Deterrence (Perform Security Duties at Protected Areas and Protected Places)

Through the Deterrence (Perform Security Duties at Protected Areas and Protected Places) course, learners will attain the knowledge to perform security duties within and in the surrounding areas of the protected areas and protected places under the Infrastructure Protection Act.


Learning outcomes

  • Understand IPA and its purpose

  • Manage entries into protected areas and protected places

  • Handle suspicious incidents involving person or vehicle at specified area of protected area and protected places.

  • Handle suspicious incidents involving Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) sighted at specific surrounding areas of protected area and protected places


Entry Requirements

  • Minimum Secondary 2 education or equivalent; or

  • Able to read, write, speak and understand English at WPL Level 3

  • Able to manipulate numbers at WPN Level 3

  • No pre-existing medical conditons


*Individuals who do not meet the entry requirements will be subjected to interview before acceptance

Assessment

Learners need to attain at least 75% attendance and pass the course in order to obtain a Statement of Attainment.
