This competency unit specifies the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of a security officer to prepare security screening duty, prepare person for security screening, perform security screening of person with walk-through and hand-held metal detectors, conduct manual screening (pat-down) of person, conduct manual bag search and conclude security screening activities

Through this course, participants will be able to demonstrate mastery of the following tasks:

1. Prepare security screening duty

2. Prepare person for security screening

3. Perform security screening of person with walk-through and hand-held metal detectors

4. Conduct manual screening (pat-down) of person

5. Conduct manual bag search 

6. Conclude security screening activities

Entry Requirements

• Minimum Secondary 2 education or equivalent; or 

• Able to read, write, speak and listen to English at WPL Level 4

• Able to manipulate numbers at WPN Level 4 

• 6 Months Security Industry Expeience as a Security Officer

• 21 years old and above

*Individuals who do not meet the entry requirements will be subjected to interview before acceptance
