HOW TO BE A SECURITY OFFICER?

Step 1. Security Clearance by PLRD

To apply for a Security Officer (SO) License, you would need to get clearance from the Police Licensing and Regulatory Department (PLRD).

• Application Fee: $16.00

• Processing Period: 2 weeks

• Malaysians are required to have a valid Singapore work permit and a Letter of Good Conduct (Apply for CCNC here)

Step 2. Complete the 3 Basic Licensing Units (BLUs)

​

• Threat Observation (Recognise Terrorist Threats) (RTT)

• Guard and Patrol, Access Control Management (Provide Guard and Patrol Services and Operate Basic Security Equipment (PGPS & OBSE)

• Incident Response (Handle Security Incidents and Services) (HSIS)

Step 3. Apply for the Security ID Card

​

Upon completing the 3 Basic Licensing Units and after the security officer application has been approved, you can apply for your security ID card through the USE ID Card Portal.

 

Additional Information : 

• The license is valid for 5 years

• Application fee : $22.50
